Odin Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 14, 2026
1. Overview
Odin is a Discord server administration, utility, and moderation bot. This policy explains what Discord data Odin processes, why it is used, and how it is retained.
2. Data Odin processes
- Discord identifiers, including server, channel, message, role, and user IDs.
- Member information needed for welcome messages, role enforcement, member audits, moderation, and commands, such as usernames, display names, roles, join dates, and permissions.
- Message fields needed for enabled features, including text, embeds, attachment metadata, and image attachments.
- Moderation records, including Scam Guard strike level, action time, configured log channel, and perceptual hashes of known scam images.
- Configuration and feature data, including shortcuts, active giveaways and entrant IDs, reaction-role mappings, and long-duration timeout records.
3. How data is used
Odin uses this data only to operate requested server features. These include detecting known scam images, enforcing media-only channels and role rules, producing staff moderation logs, managing timeouts and giveaways, responding to commands, translating user-selected messages, and providing server utilities.
Scam Guard reads eligible image attachments in memory, calculates a perceptual hash, and compares it with known scam-image hashes. Odin does not retain a permanent local copy of every scanned image. A matched image may be copied to the server's configured staff log channel as moderation evidence.
4. Storage and retention
- Scam Guard strike records are automatically deleted 365 days after the last recorded action.
- User IDs and source message/server IDs attached to stored image hashes are automatically removed after 90 days. The non-reversible perceptual hash may be retained to continue detecting the known scam image.
- When Odin is removed from a server, its Scam Guard settings, strike records, associated source identifiers, long-duration timeout records, shortcuts, active giveaway data, and reaction-role mappings for that server are deleted.
- Active giveaway data is retained until the giveaway ends or is removed from active storage.
- AFK state is held in memory and is lost when Odin restarts.
- Moderation logs and generated files sent to Discord are retained in Discord according to the server's channel settings and staff deletion practices.
5. Data sharing and service providers
Odin does not sell Discord data, use it for advertising, or use message content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. Data may be processed by Discord and Odin's hosting provider as necessary to operate the bot. When a user explicitly invokes a related feature, selected text may be sent to Google Translate through the googletrans library, dictionary search terms may be sent to Urban Dictionary, publisher requests may be sent to the Cronus Zen Marketplace API, and invite, widget, or server-information requests may be sent to Discord's public APIs.
6. Security and access
Access to Odin's host and local data files is limited to the bot operator. Server moderation logs are sent only to channels configured by that server's administrators, subject to Discord channel permissions.
7. Your choices and deletion requests
Server administrators can disable configured Odin features or remove Odin from their server. Users and server administrators may request access to or deletion of applicable stored data by contacting chasebutts2024@gmail.com. Requests may require verification of the requester's Discord account or server authority.
8. Children
Odin is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirements. Odin is not designed to knowingly collect data from anyone prohibited from using Discord.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated when Odin's features or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
